Workshop spinning – beginners
In this workshop you learn how to spin wool.
You start with a hand spindle as an introduction, then continue on a spinning wheel. You learn to spin, ply your yarn and take home your first handspun wool.
Suitable for beginners.

Workshop art yarn spinning
In this workshop, you will learn two different spinning techniques to create art yarn.
You will work with different structures and variations in thickness and effect. By the end of the workshop, you will have spun two different skeins of art yarn.
Suitable for participants with spinning experience. You should be able to spin a consistent yarn, both thin and thick.

Practical:
– Bring your own spinning wheel
– A spinning wheel with a large orifice and large hooks/guides is recommended
– For plying, 2 bobbins and a lazy kate are needed (3 bobbins in total)

Course weaving – introduction (shaft loom)
This course is currently fully booked. You can contact the organiser for the waiting list or future dates.
In this two-day course you learn the basics of weaving on a shaft loom.
You are introduced to the principles of weaving, materials and structures. During the course you learn how to plan a weaving project, calculate warp and weft, set up the loom and start weaving.

Course wool processing – from sheep to yarn
This course is currently fully booked. You can contact the organiser for the waiting list or future dates.
In this two-day course you learn the full process of wool, from raw fleece to yarn.
You explore wool quality, washing techniques, fibre preparation through carding and combing, and spinning with a spindle or spinning wheel. The focus is on understanding and experiencing each step of the process.
Suitable for beginners and participants interested in fibre preparation and spinning.

Workshop 4 shaft weaving – beginners
In this workshop you learn the basics of weaving on a 4-shaft loom.
Over two full days you work through the complete weaving process. You learn how to create a warp plan, wind a warp, dress the loom (back to front method), weave, and finish your project.
Each participant works on a sample warp and develops their own design. You gain insight into drafting, loom setup, and finishing techniques.
Suitable for beginners and intermediate weavers.

– All equipment and materials for class use are provided
– Bring: three ring notebook, pen, paper, and scissors
Open evening – spinning & weaving together
Come by for a relaxed evening of spinning, weaving and band weaving.
This is not a workshop, but an open evening where you can work on your own project and learn from each other. There is space to ask questions, exchange ideas and explore different techniques.
Suitable for everyone, from beginners to experienced makers.

– You can also try spinning wheels and materials from the showroom

Workshop weaving – ready, sett, weave
In this one-day workshop you explore a range of weaving techniques on 8-shaft table looms.
You move from loom to loom and work on five different setups, each focusing on a specific structure. All looms are prepared, so you can start weaving immediately with guidance throughout the day.
You work on:
– twills and crepes
– colour and weave
– huck weaves
– deflected double weave
– waffles
At the end of the day you take home five woven samples and a set of notes.
Suitable for beginners and experienced weavers.

Workshop spinning wheel – beginners
In this workshop you learn the basics of spinning on a spinning wheel and spin your first yarn.
You learn how to draft fibre, spin a consistent yarn and ply your yarn. You will also try different spinning wheels.

Workshop rigid heddle weaving – cushion cover
In this one-day workshop you weave a fabric for a cushion cover on a rigid heddle loom.
You work with a balanced weave and focus on the rhythm of weaving. During the day you create a woven fabric which is finished into a cushion cover, including the inner.
At the end of the workshop you take home a completed cushion cover.
